Hooray!! Before & After pictures are here! Welcome to a very bright and colorful space filled with personality and memories.
It’s been exactly a year since I started on this room with inspiration for a large gallery wall and a collection of frames and artwork. There was no rush, so I took my time with designing the gallery wall, cutting the custom mats to fit to the artwork, painting the walls and doors, and installing the light fixture. Check out more of the design plan here.
Sometime down the line we have plans to replace this dining room and chairs from my college years, but for now it is still in good condition. A thorough research for “reasonably priced”, stylish dining tables and chairs will leave you with a sticker shock, so I look back at our current set and say “it’s still fine”. The striped rug was previously in our living room so I moved it under the dining set to visually tie-in the metal of the table and chairs with the rest of the space.

All of the artwork and photographs are by Greg with the exception of the framed fern DIY I made. They’re mostly pieces that have been stored away for years, so it feels so good to frame them and give them a home where they shine. My favorite piece is the large oil painting with its brilliant blue color, followed by the black and white ink sketch from when Greg traveled to Paris with his family when he was younger.
All time spent on designing and completing the gallery wall has been well worth it as it is seen from almost every area of our home. It’s such a happy and welcoming sight first thing in the morning when we have breakfast and again when we come home at the end of the day for dinner.
