I am so happy with how this fixture turned out! It’s the perfect piece for the center of my all-white and minimal living room. It’s actually pretty simple to make, just takes a little patience. For supplies, the 6″ diameter light bulb and cord set is purchased at West Elm. They also sell the chrome piece for transforming the cord into a ceiling mounted fixture. All the glass spheres are purchased at CB2.com and come in 4″ and 6″ diameter. I didn’t order enough and had to wait for a second shipment to finish the fixture.
Basically you first connect the cord set to the ceiling electrically, then attach the glass spheres around the light bulb with clear plastic craft string tied to a piece of metal wire that hooks into the tiny hole in the spheres from when the glass was blown into their shape. The only part that wasn’t so much fun was cleaning all the fingerprints off the glass when everything was done. Such a great project and you can vary the placement of the spheres for a different look later on!
